Sanghavi

Sanghavi is a model turned actress who is still active in the film and media industry. She was born in the Mysore district of Karnataka. Her father was a professor at one of the medical colleges in Mysore and during her childhood, she had aspired to pursue such a career herself, before getting attracted to modeling after which she turned to movies. Her film career started in about 1993 with her first Tamil film being ‘Amaravathi’ released in 1993 in which she played the female lead, opposite to the famous actor Ajith Kumar.

Her birth name was Kavya Ramesh Bio coming soon... >> Read More... , but she changed it to Sanghavi upon the request of Chola Ponurangam, who was the producer of her first film. She did her schooling from Marimalappa School and after her schooling decided to try modeling, inspired from the famous Kannada actress Arathi, who was a very close family relative of hers. Her first film, Amarvathi’s cast consisted entirely of newcomers except for actor Ajith.

The success which the film received at box offices were overwhelming andSanghavi was noted for her passionate performance in the film even though she was just sixteen years old at the time of production. She received many offers in movies after her first film and the following year, four films were released with Sanghavi in the main role, two of them in Kannada. In the same year, she had the pride of achieving the biggest hit movie in her career- ‘ Rasigan Rasigan is an interview-based tv show aired on Adi >> Read More... ’ which ran non-stop in theaters across South India for almost one hundred fifty days.

She has performed in nearly a hundred films in Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil in addition to which she also played as a supporting cast in the 1997 Hindi film – ‘Sher-E-Hindustan’. Apart from films and modeling, Sanghavi is also an active figure in various television serials.
