Another Version of this story…
Ishara Nair is an Indian Film Model and an Actress who has mostly worked in Telugu and Tamil movies. She belongs to Kerala where she was born to a Malayali family on May 30, 1986, in Kochi. In an interview, she told that she was passionate about being an actress since her college days. Soon, she started working as a model in 2012 and appeared regularly in the media which lead to her getting offers for acting in movies choosing the one that interested and excited her.
She made her debut in the 2014 drama movie ‘Venmegam’ directed by the Ram-Laxman duo. She played the lead role of “Raji” opposite Vidharth. Before the movie was released, she had already earned four more movies. Her second feature film ‘Pappali’ was a comedy film and it failed to impress the cine-goers and critics and failed miserably at the box office too.
Her third movie was the black comedy heist film ‘Sathuranga Vettai’ released the same year in summer in which she played the role of a typical village-based house-wife showing off her acting skills, for which she received widespread acclaims and praises. Asked about the movie, she said in an interview, “Actually, at first I was hesitant to cry in front of the camera I was conscious about my looks then. Later, I realized that the character is what important than myself.” In another interview with TOI, she said, “"I had to work hammer and tongs to perfect my dialect because the director was adamant that I dub for my own lines. This sprang as a surprise as nobody ever allowed me to dub in my own voice". The movie earned her a nomination at the 4th South Indian International Movie Awards under the Best Debut Actress category.
After being asked about her being choosy about the characters she portrays she said, “Yes, I'm choosy!" she says. Dancing around, romancing the hero and exiting the screen does not amuse the actress. "Since I'm in the initial phase of my career, I don't want to make a mistake and ultimately ruin my career. My character should be an important one that is the reason you haven't seen me in any Malayalam movies yet because I have only been offered minor roles so far”.
She also made her debut in Telugu movies when she appeared in the romantic drama film ‘Okkasari’. Her next projects include the Tamil dramedy film ‘Papparapaam’, in which she plays a retro-styled character donning an 80’s setup character opposite Vinoth Kishan, ‘Athi Medhavigal’ directed by Ranjith Manikandan in which she played the role of a college girl with a pinch comedy opposite VJ Suresh, and ‘Selfie’ which is a horror thriller movie in which she’ll play the lead role.
She says that she wishes to do a variety of roles that would be remembered by the audience. She also adds that she isn't imaging conscious and would shed the inhibitions that had prevented her from realising her own acting class and skills.
