Rethika Srinivas

Rethika Srinivas is a film actress who works primarily in the Indian Tamil film industry. She was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in a family which is currently residing in Mumbai. She completed her graduation from SRM University in electronic engineering. Next, she went to the united kingdom for further studies where she did her post-graduation in media studies.

After completing her studies Rethika opened her own media company in Dubai titled icebreakers. Her self-established company helped her in conducting shows in Dubai along with working in several advertisements. An icebreaker is a media company which has been producing ad films and has been conducting mega events with several Kollywood and Bollywood stars. Besides this Rethika herself has worked in over forty commercials for brands such as Preethi, Chennai diamonds and BSA SLR. She began her career in Tamil movies in 2011, with the movie Deiva Thirumagal.

Directed by A L Vijay the film is a musical drama and revolves around a man who is mentally disabled but fights to get the custody of her daughter. Released on 15th July 2011, the movie was noted for her performance of different actors and the storyline as well. Later on, while working for an ad film Rethika Balaji Sakthivel who was looking for an actress for his next film. He auditioned her and selected her for the movie.

The picture Vazhakku Enn 18/9 also turned out to be a super hit and the actress was highly praised for her role as Jayalakshmi who was depicted as an arrogant young mother in the film. After the success of this film, she started getting offers for various others. Another movie Aarohanam also released in the same year. In 2013, her first release was Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru in which she played the character of an IT manager. The other two pictures which had hit the cinema in the same year were Singham 2 and Biryani.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu Biryani was an average film revolving around the story of two drunken men who were in search of a place to have biryani.
