They shared a very close bond and according to Radhakrishnan's family Sivaji would often visit Radhakrishnan to recall olden days and both spent hours together. Radhakrishnan worked in numerous Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. In the first half of his remarkable career, he worked with eminent actors.
The second innings was made by him when actor Kamal Hassan gave him an opportunity to act in his films. That's how he became famous among the newer audience too. The actor was aged 86 years when he passed away due to respiratory problems and is survived with wives Visalakshi and Saradambal and three sons Udhaya kumar, Rajavel, Senthil and daughters Jothil akshmi, Sumathi, Meenakshi, Karpagam and Andal.
