Shinchan Raghuvaran

Raghuvaran is a dubbing artist in the Tamil film and television industry. Raghuvaran had started his dubbing journey when he was just six years old. Both his parents are senior artists in this field, so it comes out natural that Raghuvaran spent a lot of time in recording studios from his childhood.

Even though Raghuvaran has worked decades in the dubbing industry, he received a lot of viral fame for being the voice of Shinchan, from the popular Japanese series Shinchan. To be more specific, the dialogue “Amaidhi Amaidhi Amaidhiyo Amaidhi “went viral and then he became “Shinchan Raghuvaran”. 

Raghuvaran describes this overnight fame as quite surprising as dubbing artists usually work behind the scenes and are not given much credit. He has also said that often when he says that he is the voice of Shinchan, people don’t believe him as they think it is a kid who is speaking and not a full-grown 33-year old man. Raghuvaran received Shinchan in 2008 itself. He states that for the first 20 episodes, he was clueless on how to carry on the iconic character of Shinchan Nohara and then he started to relate the scenes with his childhood incidents and carried on.

Raghuvaran has voiced a lot of other Tamil versions of television shows like Pokemon, Ben10, DragonBallZ, and Science of Stupid. He has also worked on the Tamil versions of many Hindi movies. Raghuvaran has a very loyal fanbase on Facebook. We can also see videos of him doing live dubbing sessions on platforms like YouTube. 

Some brands have come up with t-shirt and phone case designs with some iconic dialogues from the show.

Raghuvaran also has aspirations of debuting as an actor and says that he is waiting for the right opportunity. For now, he says that he feels very grateful for being a dubbing artist as he can live and experience different lives within the walls of the studio.
