Tamil action movie director R. Paneerselvam was born on 10th April 1970. He is a native of Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu. Johnny, an actor, appeared in one of his movies, Renigunta (2009). In 2016, a Kannada remake and release of his film Renigunta under the title Mandya to Mumbai took place. His movie 18 Vayasu, produced by the same group as Renigunta, is about a mentally challenged young person who falls in love. He worked on the action movies Run (2002), Ji (2005), Sandakozhi (2005), and Bheema as associate director for Indian filmmaker N. Linguswamy (2008). In the film, Iswarya Murugan, directed by his father, R. Paneerselvam, his son Arun Paneerselvam made his acting debut.
