Battling Mani is an Indian cinema artist who worked mainly for the Tamil film industry. He worked as a stunt man during the period of silent films, and he made his way up by performing in a Tamil movie. In 1936, the Tamil cinema released its first action movie Madras Mail which starred Battling Manu and was also written by him. The movie turned out to be a huge success. His next films were Miss Sundari and Thaai Nadu, which released on the day India became an independent country.
He began his career as a director in 1938 and released his movie Harijana Singam Madras CID in which he featured in the lead role.
