K V Guhan is a Cinematographer and Director in Tamil and Telugu Film Industry. He was born and brought up in Chennai. He is the youngest of his parents’ four children. His elder brother Saran is notable Producer and Director in the Industry. Their fathers’ name is T. Kulandaivelayudam. K V Guhan did his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

K V Guhan started his career in the editing department of Bala Chander, where he worked for 3-4 years. Then he started to assist the famous Cinematographer P.C. Sree Ram. He did his first film Kushi (Hindi Film) in the year 2003. In the same year, he also did his first Telugu film ‘ Naani’, starring Mahesh Babu. In the following next year, he got the opportunity to shoot the film in his mother tongue, Tamil. The film was ‘New’. That was a start to his appreciable career.

He has mostly worked with Trivikram Srinivas, Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj on various projects. The partnership of K V Guhan and Prakash Raj has 9 films together. Srinu Vaitla shifted the job of cameraman to three people for his film ‘ Dookudu’ and finally he stayed with Guhan and continued him as his DOP in film ‘ Baadshah’ too. Though being Tamil his language, he has worked more in Telugu films. Film ‘Inidhu Inidhu’, happened to be K V Guhan’s first directorial film. It was produced by Prakash Raj.
