Anup Chandrasekharan

Anup Chandrasekharan is a marketing director and the former chairman of Colors Tamil, a renowned entertainment company. Chandrasekharan worked for Star Suvarna for almost a decade prior to teaming up with Colors Tamil. For the last two years, he has served as the CEO of Zee Kannada. Derana TV, a Sinhalese-based quality recreational public broadcaster operating in Sri Lanka, was founded and operated by him.

In the course of his career, spanning approximately thirty years, Chandrasekharan has undertaken critical responsibilities in the incubation of numerous platforms. Colors Tamil was launched with Chandrasekharan's heavy input. The network was inaugurated effectively with 35 percent coverage in a primarily conventional environment under his supervision, which was praised as a remarkable debut. Colors Tamil premiered with five programmes and achieved 100+ GRPs in its inaugural week.

Although being a newcomer in the hypercompetitive Tamil GEC field, the station built a position on its own during Chandrasekharan's guidance with original, diversified, and compelling programs and transformed the Tamil Television sector's manufacturing terrain based on broadcast standards. With every programme, the network recruited custom-picked talented actors and moulded them into personas that suited the company's beliefs. The station enlisted the greatest specialists for its material, from filmmakers to DOPs to marketers.

However, it was recently confirmed by Viacom18 that Anup Chandrasekharan has left Colors Tamil after a five-year tenure and was replaced by Rajaraman Sundaram, who has previously served in important roles in stations such as Malayalam Cluster, Hathway Cable, Asianet Star Communications Pvt Ltd, and as Datacom Ltd's Chief Operating Officer, among other positions. He has also led departments at Vijay Television, STAR India, and NDTV Imagine, among others.
