Shamini Gunasagar

Born in Singapore, Shamini Gunasagar is a young Tamilian actress, a part of the Mediacorp family. Mediacorp is Singapore’s national media network and content creator. Before beginning her career in the media industry, Shamini attended the University of Bradford in England. Later she did her masters in Mass Communication and Media Studies at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Through Mediacorp, Shamini has acted on several entertainment projects. In 2015, she was a part of the main cast of an Indian Tamil soap opera series called ‘ Ennuyire Ennuyire was a Tamil soap opera TV premiered on Me >> Read More... ’. After one season and sixty-two episodes later, the show ended in March 2016. In September 2016, Shamini played the role of Revathy in a soap opera titled ‘Azhagiya Thamizh Magal’ which translates to ‘Beautiful Tamil Girl’.

The show aired on the TV channel ‘ Vasantham Vasantham serial was aired by Sun Television Netwo >> Read More... ’, which is owned by Mediacorp. In 2017, Gunasagar joined the main cast of Kalyanam, a soap opera on the Vasantham channel, in season two as protagonist Anjali’s colleague. Apart from acting in fiction, Shamini is also celebrated for her hosting skills. She was one of the two primary hosts of the talk show called ‘Pesuvom’ which premiered in the year 2022. This light-hearted and informative show was aimed at delving into various health and lifestyle matters.

Her acting career continued to thrive as she appears in the Tamil drama web series Yaar, which premiered in 2022. This series is available on ‘MeWatch’ as well as on YouTube. Along with fictional works, Shamini has also been offered advertisement roles specifically for jewelry companies such as ‘Ishtara Jewellery’, a famous jewelry chain in Singapore. Shamini Gunasagar’s talent and hard work were recognized and rewarded as she was nominated and won the Pradhana Vizha Award for Best Newcomer in 2010. She was later nominated and won the Best Supporting Actress in 2018.
