Premji

Premji was born on 23rd September, 1908 in Kerala and he passed away on 10th August, 1908. Premji was a very popular actor, social reformer and writer. His wife’s name is Arya Premji and she died in the year 1998. His full name is Mullamangalath Parameshwaran Bhattathiripad and people also know him as M.P. Bhattathiripad. He was the very popular cultural leader in Kerala. Premji also became a part of Yogakshema Sabha which used to work for removing Conservatism and Casteism and got the opportunity to work with E.M.S. Namboodripad, V.T. Bhattathiripad and M.R. Bhattathiripad.

When Premji was born, Kerala was going through with a very worst situation which effected Premji’s family as well. Premji was also a very famous actor and his brother M.R.Bhattathiripad also used to do professional Malayalam plays and people also know his brother as MRB. Premji was married to Arya Anthajanam when he was 35 years old and her wife was 27 years old. His wife Arya Anthajanam was married to someone before Premji during her childhood and her husband died for some reason. When Arya was 17, she turned out to be a widow and then she got married to Premji at the time when widow marriages were not allowed in her community.

Premji began his career as a Proof Editor at Mangalodayam Press when he was of the age 19. He then started his career in acting with the play named Adukkalayil Ninnu Arangathakku. Adukkalayil Ninnu Arangathakku was the play of V.T. Bhattathiripad who was a very famous Dramatist. Slowly and gradually he started doing more plays like his brother’s play named Marakkudakkullile Mahaanarakam, Mootiringode’s play Apphante Makal, P.R Warrier’s Chavittikkuzhacha Mannu, Cherukad’s play named Nammalonnu and much more.

The Government of Kerala gave him a gold medal for his outstanding performance in the play named Shah Jahan and the producer of this play was Kalakaumudi Nataya Koottayma. He also got the fellowship of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. After achieving a lot in stage plays, he entered into the film industry and did many popular films. He also won many awards for his brilliant performances in the movies. He received the National Film Award for the Best Actor’s category for the film Piravi in the year 1989. He also got the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor again for the film Piravi in the year 1989. He also got the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 1989 for the film Piravi. He has done many popular films like Padippura, Bhagvan, Sanchari, Sathyam and much more.
