Sashi Kumar is an Indian journalist, actor, and film director, popular amongst the people in the country for being the founder of Asianet, the first Indian regional satellite TV channel. Mostly known as the founder and chairman of Media Development Foundation, which runs the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai which is of great significance.
Based in Kodunagallur, Thrissur, Kerela, Sashi completed his graduation from the Loyola College, Chennai. For his post-graduation, he went to Madras Christian College. The early stages of his career saw him working at Doordarshan as a newsreader. In 2004, he won the award for Best Debut Filmmaker, after he directed the Hindi film Kaya Taran. Since then, Sashi has improved a lot as a filmmaker.
