Sajil Mampad

Sajil Mampad is a Malayalam director and screenwriter. Believe it or not, he is one of the youngest directors in the Malayalam film industry. Sajil debuted as a director at the age of 21. Sajil lives in Mampad, Kerala, India. He completed his education at SIAS Media School. Filmmaking was a big dream of Sajil from a young age. As a fishmonger’s son, it was hard to achieve that dream. However, he had full support from his teachers as well as his parents. Sajil’s big-screen debut film is Kadakan. It came out on March 1, 2024. The action movie was a big hit in theatres. The movie is about a rebel father who lived in a village and some incidents which endangered their lives. Sajil took inspiration from real-life incidents along with some fictitious elements.

Sajil was very enthusiastic about storytelling from a young age. He started writing scripts at the age of 10. He always participated in some film-related competitions. Sajil took the initiative to direct a short film, Vidarum Munbe Kozhum Malarugal. The short film won first place in a district-level competition. He didn’t stop there, releasing back-to-back short films like Leghanam, Sixth Signal, Hidden Truth and many more. His other short film, Aura, won a state award in the year 2018.
