P A Backer was one of the geniuses and leading figures of Malayalam Industries. He was born in 1940 in Trichur. He has also served as a part-time reporter back in his college days. He has been a part of many great movies in minor roles during the 1950s and 1960s. His most influential entry was in a film from 1970 Olavum theeravum of which he was a producer. Olavum Theeravum won the best movie and cinematography in many states.
He has been the part of Malayalam Industries not just as a producer but as a director and as an assistant as well. He was mostly known for his directorial debut, Kabani Nadi Chuvannappol. His parents were Ahamed Musliar and Fathima of Kanippayyoor. His dearest wife is Anita Backer. He has also won many awards named National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam, National Film Award for the category of Best Feature Film in Malayalam, Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. Mollywood director died on 22 November 1993.
