Soman Ambaat is a South Indian director in Malayalam cinema and the member of Film Employees Federation of Kerala association. He finished his graduation from Bharat Mata college in Kochi. Soman left banking career to enter Malayalam film Industry. He began his vocation as the assistant director to P. Bhaskaran, a well-known filmmaker. Later, he worked as associate chief for several movies such as Harshabhaspam in 1977 by P Gopikumar, Vilakkumveilchavum in 1978by P. Bhaskaran, Kolilakkam in 1981 by Vijay Anand and P N Sundaram, PonnumPoovum in 1982 by A. Vincent and many more. He worked with famous coordinators such as A. B. Raj, P. N. Sundaram, Vijayanand, P Gopikumar, and A. Vincent. Soman debuted in the Malayalam film industry with the suspense thriller movie named AayiramAbhilashangalfeaturing Swapna, Mammotty, Maneka, Sukumaran, and Soman as main characters. The film was multiple roles with many eminent actors of that period. It got positive reviews and praises for its unique way. It came to theaters on 10 July of 1984. In 1984, Soman directed the film titled Manasariyathe, written by VellimanVijayan with actors such as Jagathy, Mohanlal, Sattar, ZarinaWahab, and NedumudiVenu. The motion picture was about the womanizer who harassed the family frequently. The super hit movie named Drishyam released in 2013 had the similar plot to Manasariyathe film. He coordinated the motion picture named OppomOppathinoppumstarring Lalu Alex, Mohanlal, Shankar, and Menaka which turned out to be blockbuster. The film released on 3 October of 1986. K. Padmanabhan Nair

K. Padmanabhan Nair was a director in the Indian Film Industry and also a scriptwriter in the Malayalam films. He was born in 1919 in Payannur in the Kannur district. He was the son of Kaithari Raman Nambiar and Kutty Nambiar. He got married to Santha P. Nair who was a famous playback singer and had a child named Latha Raju. Their son-in-law is J. M. Raju who is also a playback singer. His grandson’s name is Aalap Raju is a playback singer too. He died in the year 1990. Since 1944, he was working at “All India Radio.” He also got awarded Kerala State Awards for some of his stories such as ThacholiOthenan and Kunjalimarakkar. He made his debut as a writer into the Malayalam film industry in the year 1963. He did dialogue writing in many films such as Moodupadam released in 1963, ThacholiOthenan in 1964, Kochumon in 1965, Devatha in 1965, Kadathukaaran in 1965, KunjaaliMarakkaar in 1967, NGO in 1967, Vidhi in 1968, and Sandhya in 1969. He also did the screenplay for films like ThacholiOthenan, Kochumon, Devatha, Kadathukaaran, KunjaaliMarakkaar, NGO, and Vidhi. He directed the films ‘Kochuman’ and ‘Devatha.’‘Kochuman’ is an Indian Malayalam. Its producer is Mamman Varghese. It released on 8 October 1965. In this film, he worked with Devadatta who was its writer, Prem Nazir, Sheela, Thikkurissi Sukumaran, Nair, T. S. Muthiah, Ammu, CR Lakshmi, and Meena who are the cast member or actors, Alleppey Usman who gave his music, BG Jagirdhar was the cinematographer, PJ Eezhakkadavu and P. Bhaskaran were the lyricist and PP Varghese who did the editing part. The film was made under the production company named “St. George Movies.” It is a story of a girl names Annamma who falls for a man who is very rich and gives birth to a child named George, but the man refuses to accept her child, later she also abandons the child, and he grows up without knowing about his father and mother. He directed the film “Devatha” with the director WR Subba Rao and producer Bharathi Menon. It released in theatres on 14 January 1965. Prem Nazir, Sathyan, Adoor Bhasi, and T. S. Muthaiah play the lead roles in the film. He approached PS Divakar for the music of the film and WR Subba Rao for cinematography. He did the story writing and screenplay himself.
