Anil Philip

FR. Anil Philip CMI is a famous Indian Director and writer from Kochi, Kerela. His works have left a good impression on the South Indian film industry, especially in the Malayalam film industry. He is also a catholic priest who actively inspires the young generation to participate in the wave of social media culture for the glory of God. He also works as the director of the Chavara Cultural Centre in Kochi, which is one of the top cultural interaction centres in Kerela. He was ordained as a CMI priest in February 2007. He graduated from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam in Malayalam Literature.

He completed his post-graduation at Calicut University in journalism and mass communication. He also attended Neo Film School, Cochin, and completed his postgraduate diploma in film direction and television broadcasting. He was the director and manager at Christ CMI Public School Kanhangad. He has also earned prestigious positions at several magazine and media houses: Chief Editor at Moolyasruthi Public Magazine, director of the media section at Chavara Media House Production, and LifeNet Virtual TV Channel.

He started his career as a writer and published books. In 2006, he published his first book "Njanathinte Pusthakam" and his second book in 2010, "Avante Naal Vazhikal Enteum". His first movie was "Madhuram EE Jeevitham" in 2018, and his debut movie is "Micheal's Coffee House" in 2021, a Malayalam thriller romance drama movie starring Magret Anthony, Jinse Baskar and Rony David in the lead roles.

He has been honoured with the esteemed Confederation of NRI Associations Global NRI award for peace and tolerance, and for his impressive efforts in supporting interreligious activities. His movies have not only won awards in India but also abroad. His movie "Madhuram Ee Jeevitham" won the Outstanding Achievement award at the 34th Calcutta International Cult and FIim Festival in 2019 and the Best Debutant Director award at the Mumbai Kalasamrudhi Internation Film Festival in 2019.
