CK NagarajaRao was an Indian writer and artist born on 12th June; 1915 in Challakere, Chitradurga district of Karnataka, to parents CS Krishnamurthy Rao and Smt. Puttamma. He did his schooling at Nandi Hills near Bangalore, where he associated with Mahatma Gandhi, and got instilled with a feeling of devotion and national welfare. He worked with a Kannada book printer Satya Shodhana Pustaka Bhandara and got an opportunity to work with some of the leading writers of Karnataka. He also worked along with Masti VenkateshaIyengar, BM Srikantaiah, and many more. CK also directed plays, including TP Kailasam, Kuppali Venkatappagowda Puttappa, and many more.
He was the first person to be represented with the Moortidevi Award by Bhartiya Jnanpith in 1983 and received the Best Creative Literary Work in 1978. He was the founder of Karnataka Lekhakara Sangha and was involved in the Rotary Club of Bangalore. He was an active PEN member and served as the Vice-Principal of Adarsha Film Institute. He died on 10th April; 1998 in Bangalore, Karnataka.
