He works as a Music Director, and lyricist in the Indian Film Industry, predominantly in the Kannada Film Industry. He is also a classical musician and has experience working as a percussionist, and manager in Kannada music.

Other than that he is also the founder of an event management NGO called Prakruthi. Its aim is to see India as a greener city by leading people out of hibernation into parks. The instruments he plays are the keyboard, Tabla, and many more. He was taught music by Pt. R. V. Sheshadri Gawai, who used to teach in Aravinda Sangeetha Vidyalaya. Tabla was taught to him by Pandit Ravindra Yavagal. Praveen has composed music for work in many fields like theatre, movies, television, commercial ads, and many more. As a composer, he has developed his own style. He was commissioned by SAMPAD, UK to compose music for Moving Earth, a dance and music production that was part of the 2012 London Olympics.
