PB Balaji is an Indian music composer. His forefathers hailed from Mysore, but he was born and brought up in Chennai. He was born on April 2, 1983, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He did his graduation from the MGR Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu. He had a passion for music. So, his parents supported him in pursuing his passion as a career. He is trained in Carnatic music, Western music, flute, and keyboard. Initially, he used to be a stage singer and keyboard player. In 2003, he started his music band named 'Chennai Classics.' He has also composed hundreds of advertisements and film jingles.
He got his first break as Music Director in the film industry with the Tamil movie 'Inba' (2008), but he gained fame from the movie 'Siddhu +2'. This movie proved a turning point in his life. He is also known for movies like Mast Maja Maadi, Chamkaisi Chindi Vadaisi, Sooran, and Kasi Kuppam. He has prominently worked in the Tamil and Kannada film industry. He has received the best music director award for the film Sooran. He has also rendered background music for Indo-English films Self defense and Oru Kilo Taxi.
