Thriller Manju is a person who has left no stone unturned in the field of cinema. A multitalented person, he is a director, a stunt director, an actor and a choreographer. He was born as Manjunatha Kumar in the city of Bengaluru in Karnataka. He has been working in the Kannada Film Industry since the year 1990. Manju entered the film industry through the movie Gejja Nadu in the year 1993. He started out as an actor and did small supporting roles in movies like Jana Nayaka and Shh! a thriller film in the 1990s. After a few stints in acting, he went on to become the captain of the ship that is the director. He ventured into filmmaking in the year 1996 through a cop movie. Thriller Manju, as his name suggests, made a thrilling and racy cop flick titled Police Story. This movie, whose story and screenplay were also written by Manju, had actor Sai Kumar in the lead. It became an instant blockbuster and even today remains a trademark film. The after effect of the movie was so high that fans started to expect another similar movie from Manju, which led him to direct the sequels for this cult film. In the year 2006, after ten years of the release of the first one, Manju directed its sequel movie titled Police Story 2. This flick also had the ‘Dialogue King’ Sai Kumar in the lead. The movie opened up to mixed reviews.

Critics claimed that the film was a mirror image of the original movie, Police Story, and was out of trend. Ignoring the reviews and with the determination to direct another sequel Manju made the film Police Story 3 in the year 2011. This movie holds a Guinness World Record and also features in the Limca Book of Records for being shot in just twelve hours and completing the post-production work in ten days. Thriller Manju has also acted as the hero in this movie in which the Kannada super hero Sudeep has done a cameo. The other movies in which he has acted are Andhra Hendthi (2000), Neethone Vuntanu (2002) a Telugu film, Rama Krishna (2004), Jai Hind (2012) and a few others. The recent movie in which he has acted is Mr. Cheater (2012) and Youthful Love (2014). Youthful Love is a Telugu venture in which Manju choreographed the stunt sequences as well. He also has plans for opening a production house to give his brother’s son Vikhyath, who is an aspiring actor, an easy start in the industry. Manju started out as a stunt director and has so far worked in more than four-hundred movies. Some of the notable films in which he has worked as an action director are Veera Madakari (2009), Auto Shankar (2005) and Azaad (2000). His upcoming movie is Rana Pratapa.

Sandeep Bharadwaj is an actor, who will be the protagonist, Veerappan in the upcoming movie, Killing Veerappan directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The movie is based on the story of an infamous sandalwood smuggler arousing public interest. Ram Gopal Varma had recently shared Sandeep’s pictures through his twitter handle. The director himself had posted that he was shocked to see the dedication and passion of the debutant actor. Praises are pouring in for this new actor. Sandeep’s adeptness has to be eulogized, and it would not be a case of going overboard to say that while acting he was thinking and living a life like Veerappan. According to Ram Gopal Varma, the biggest compliment that the budding actor received was a warning given by a unit member that he could be mistaken by the people for real Veerappan. Sandeep in real life doesn’t even closely resemble Veerappan, but the makeup artist has done an incredible job in making him from outside the real Veerappan. Sandeep Bhardwaj is an alumnus of National School of Drama. Other actors who will be playing vital roles in the movie are Yanga Shetty, Parul Yadav, and Kannada Superstar Shivrajkumar. The movie Killing Veerappan has already been in the news as people are waiting to see the similarity between the reel and real versions of the forest smuggler. The film’s story revolves around Operation Cocoon that was devised to capture and kill the popular bandit, Veerappan. The movie was shot mainly in the Kannada language and has been dubbed into Tamil and Telugu languages as well. Shiva Rajkumar will be essaying the role of the then superintendent of police, N K Senthamarai Kannan of Special Task Force. The Kannada version got released and upon its release people praised the background score, performances, cinematography, casting, direction, and screenplay. Veerappan was a forest brigade dominant in the forest of Satyamangalam, Tamil Nadu.
