Lokesh is a famous South Indian artist, and he is famous in the Tamil and Kannada film industry. He was born on May 19, 1947, at Bangalore to Subbaiah Naidu, who himself was a prominent figure in the Kannada film industry. He had his schooling and college education from Bangalore. During his college days itself, he worked with professional drama companies. He is an exquisite actor and an excellent screenwriter. His wife is Girija Lokesh, who is a famous film actress and film director.

His debut performance was in a Kannada movie called “ Kaadu.” It is directed by Girish Karnad, a famous personality in Kannada. The film was based on the original novel by Srikrishna Alanahalli. The film received three national awards and Lokesh’s debut performance was much appreciated. Following the success, he acted in “Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu”, directed by Siddalingaiah. It was based on the novel by Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar. It portrayed the hardship of a small peasant during the feudal regime and his struggle for survival. His performance as a village boy brought him into the limelight.

He has thrice won the best actor award in Kannada film industry. The first was for his stupendous performance in “Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu”; the second was for his marvelous performance in “Parasangada Gendethimma”; and third was for his outstanding performance in “Banker Margayya”. “Parasangada Gendethimma” was directed by Maruthi Shivram and was based on the novel of the same name written by Srikrishna Alanahalli. In this movie, he played the protagonist role.

In “Banker Margayya”, a film directed by T S Nagabharana, he played the role of a Financial expert, which brought widespread appreciation.

Shridhar is also called Sridhar  is one of the most admired actors in the Kannada film industry. He is also a performer and a choreographer. He was born with huge acting ability and started performing on stage at his very young age. Sridhar won lofty awards for his performances. He is also a dance scholar in Bharatanatyam, and won the Best Young Dancer Award in the Karnataka Sangitha Nritya Academy in the 80’s. Later on, he received several awards for his talent. ENTRY INTO CINEMA: Sridhar mastered an Engineering degree. He is married to Anuradha who is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Sri, Puttana Kanagal, the late well-known Kannada director noticed Shridhar and then presented him to the Kannada screen in the film, Amrutha Ghalige in 1983. His first brilliant appearance as a young sacrificing boy, was appreciated and treasured by the Kannadigans, and later, he was called as Karnataka. His brilliant performance as the lead role was still remembered until today, and the hindusthanavu endu mareyada song became the nationalistic song in the Kannada cinema. Sridhar performed in more than 65 films from the direction of various legends and he has won several awards for most of his performances. He acted using 5 different languages such as, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam. In Kannada, Sridhar got the Karnataka State Government’s Best Actor Award for his role in Santa Shishunala Shariefa. The film also got the respected Nargis Dutt award from the Central Government. Sridhar also portrayed the role of a Yakshagana artist in the film Bannada Vesha, who had won the regional Best Film Award. In Tamil, he was introduced in the film, Manathil Uruthi Vendum. He also acted in Poo Pootta Nandavanam and Maha Maayi. In Hindi, Sridhar is a hero in the film Bhairavi, who had won a National Award. In Telugu, his role in Swarabhishekam has won high acclaim. Then, because of his brilliant performance in Shivaleelalu as Lord Shiva, he turned to be a household name in Andhra Pradesh.
