Dr. R. Arunachalam, a humble and down-to-earth individual, began his career as a land developer in 1984 to build residential layouts primarily for the society's middle class. He had direct knowledge of the requirements and expectations of factory-wage laborers wishing to develop and live in their own dream houses and the challenges and tribulations they had to undergo to achieve this goal. With this background, Dr. Arunachalam's goal was to truly strive to assist people in achieving this significant life milestone. Dr. Arunachalam's idea of value addition to an average man's dream project sparked this excellent thought. The Government of Karnataka deviated from the policy for the first time, appointing Dr.R.Arunachalam, the only non-elected individual, as Chairman of the Task Force Committee during 1993-1994, recognizing his devotion to the cause, speed, and efficiency. Within 12 months, he distributed 30,000 free sites to recognized recipients in and around Bangalore.
