Rupali Ganguly was born on 5th of April, 1977 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Mamta Dutta was first seen on TV in Hindi serial 'Parivaar-Kartavya Ki Pariksha' during 2007-08 which was telecast on Zee TV. It was the story of a middle class girl who tries to support her family and in turn earns the wrath of her mother-in-law. There were fresh actors in the serial and the story related to Indian masses at a time when Hindi TV serials were ruled by Saas Bahu serials and gorgeous women who had a larger than life image. The serial was produced by Niret Alva and Nikhil Alva for Miditech and directed by Rajesh Babbar and Yash Chauhan. Mamta acted as Mallishka in the serial and her performance in the serial was appreciated by the audiences. The serial was instantly liked by the masses and Mamta was known in the TV acting circles.During 2010, Taarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma, one of the most popular TV serials came out with a new story with a bhootni ( female ghost) in a negative role.
