Minal Karpe is an Indian television actress based in Mumbai. She was a part of the class of 1979 of the Lala Lajpat Rai College of Mumbai University. She is married to Laxmikant Karpe. She has two kids, Hemali Karpe, and Shreekant Karpe. She has worked in some Hindi serials, some of them being Sasural Simar Ka and Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka. She also played a significant role in a Gujarati film, “Aapnaj Gharma No Entry”. The film was released in 2007 and was made by Tushar Joshi. She played the lead role along with Dinesh Hingoo. Apart from it, she played the role of Vasanti Ben in Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka. Telecasted on Sony TV, it was the first Hindi fiction serial to be aired for 1000 episodes and is one of the longest TV serials of all time. It is a story of a Gujarati business tycoon and his four sons. It shows the love and rivalry that happens when you are living in a joint family. Started in 1999, the show ended in 2002.  Minal plays the role of Baa in the famous on-going serial, Sasuraal Simar Ka, which has crossed over 1400 episodes till date and is still running. It is the story of two sisters, Roli, and Simar who marry brothers and how the sisters handle the family by tackling all the situations. Her role of Baa has turned negative these days, and it has grabbed a lot of limelight. Initially, Minal stated that her role was seen to be very positive and kind, but now it shows that her character is cunning and is a mastermind of a lot of evil deeds. She also said that playing a negative role is a different high for her. And she loved to play a negative character after 35 years of her life.
