Kamal Kapoor was a legendary Indian personality. He did acting in multiple Indian languages, mainly in Hindi. Along with being an actor, he was also a producer. Kamal was born on 22 February 1920. His birthplace was Lahore, British India in Punjab (now in Pakistan). He went to DAV College, Lahore and completed his education there. Legendary Indian actor, Prithviraj Kapoor was his cousin. Goldie Behl is Kamal’s grandson. During the 1940s, he started his career in acting. Door Chalen was his first movie as the hero of the movie. It was released in 1946, directed by Phani Majumdar. In 1947, he did two movies, Dak Bangla, and Hatimtai. In 1948, he did a movie called Aag. It was a movie directed, produced and starring Raj Kapoor. Actors like Nargis, Nigar Sultana, Premnath, Kamini Kaushal, etc. Kamal played the role of Raj Kapoor’s father in Aag. His role in this movie was much appreciated. He appeared as Deepak in Reshmi Rumal released in 1961. In 1962, he was cast in Ek Musafir Ek Hasina. He played the role of Ranjeet. The movie featured Joy Mukherjee with Sadhna and Rajendra Nath. It was a hit movie directed by Raj Khosla. In 1965, two movies were released featuring Kamal Kapoor. Shaheed, a movie directed by S. Ram Sharma featured Kamal as the public prosecutor. Jab Jab Phool Khile was directed by Suraj Prakash starring Sashi Kapoor, Nanda, and Agha. Kamal played the role of Raja Bahadur Chunnilal Khanna, Nanda’s (as Rita Khanna) father. It was one of the hit movies during 1960s-1970s. Taqdeer was released in 1967 featuring Kamal as Vijay. Raaz, released in the same year featured him as Sunil’s (Rajesh Khanna) friend. The movie was directed by Ravindra Dave and was much appreciated. Raja Aur Runk was another hit movie released in the year 1968. It was a Hindi adaptation of The Prince and the Pauper (written by Mark Twain). Kamal was cast as Senapati Vikram. Sachaa Jhutha, starring Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz was released on 25 September 1970. Kamal was commissioner of police in this movie. He was Nawab Zafar Ali Khan, a cruel emperor in Pakeezah, a movie released on 4 February 1972. The movie featured legendary actors like Meena Kumari, Raaj Kumar, Nadira, Ashok Kumar, Veena, and D.K. Sapru. He worked with Hema Malini, Sanjeev Kumar, Dharmendra, etc, in the movie Seeta Aur Geeta released in 1972. The film was directed by the legendary director Ramesh Sippy and saw Kamal as Sanjeev Kapoor’s father. Kamal has done movies like Gora Aur Kala, Black Mail, Don, Mard, Toofan, Indrajeet, and Akhri Sanghursh. He was one of the most admired villains of Indian cinema. He died on 2 August 2010 at the age of 90 in Mumbai, India.


Chandan Kar

Chandan Kar is an Ollywood actor born on 16th September 1981 in Cuttack, Orissa. He was born to Archana Mishra and Ramakant Kar who is a retired government engineer. He studied in one of the prestigious schools, D.A .V Public School, Bhubaneswar. And later Chandan Kar had completed his BTech in Engineering from Orissa Engineering College in 2003 with a specialization in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering. Before he started his career in Odia films, Chandan was a software engineer in a top IT multi-national company. It was Sudhanshu Shekar, assistant director for Sanjay Nayak who spotted Chandan Kar and gave him an offer to act in a movie as they were searching for a fresh face. Being shy and an introvert, Chandan refused the offer but with the little persuasion, he agreed to act. Though he had no past acting experience or involvement with pictures, Chandan acted amazingly in the movie “Babu I Love You” which released in 2006. For this film, he won the best debut male actor award in the Om Shree and shubam Awards. Later in the same year, he released one more picture with the title “De Maa Sakti De” which was also a hit. Chandan not only did hero roles but also perfectly portrayed negative roles too and balanced his acting skills wonderfully. After two years of break, he released his third picture, “Mate Ani Dela Lakhye Faguna” and won Moon TV Award for the best negative role. Till the date, Chandan Kar had released around twenty pictures and sometimes acted in more than three movies in one year. He did not restrict his career to films but gave cameo appearances and small roles in TV Shows too. His role in “Kichi Katha Kichi Geetha” was very popular then. Chandan kar’s appearances in TV shows and reality shows are as equal to the number of his films. He made guest appearances in eighteen shows till the date. Chandan is a brilliant software engineer too. He had three patents in IT field related to testing and maintaining the projects. Chandan Kar is a pious human being who is a serious and active member of the Non-Government Organization; “Save Indian Family Foundation” from 2007 which has its headquarters in Bangalore. Additionally, he adopted a tigress through the program “Adopt an Animal” and named it as Bijaya. He promotes eye donation too and has already donated his eyes to the eye bank “Dhrushti Daan”. Chandan Kar is an amazing person with good heart and great acting skills.
