Famous for his role as Nikhil Samarth in the drama series Ek Ladki Anjaani Si (November 21, 2005 – September 12, 2007), aired on Sony entertainment television. Shakti Anand belonged to a Punjabi family and was born and raised in New Delhi. His mother was a Marathi filmmaker, and his father was a cameraman. He studied from Tamil Education Association and majored in Science Stream. He received his masters degree in pharmaceutical engineering, and soon after that started working as a medical examiner.
Joining Indian television, was nothing but a total surprise for him, he never planned to be an actor. According to him, he never saw himself as an actor, before he got the role in one of the most popular tv shows of that time, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (July 3, 2000 – November 6, 2008), aired on Star Plus. Soon after that his name was on everybody’s lips, and he got a perfect start in the industry. He has been a part of many tv shows, such as ASambhaav and Ek Ladki Anjaani Si. He was also cast as one of the participants in the dance show, Nach Baliye (first season) and also hosted the first season of Crime Patrol. Now he is part of a historical tv show named Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap as the Maharana Udai Singh (Maharaja).
