Rishi Kaushik, born as Kamakhya Kaushik, was brought up in Tezpur, Assam. He works majorly in Bengali television serials. He graduated from Guwahati University and Tezpur Academy. In 2002, he came to Kolkatta, with a hope to pursue his career in acting. 

Rishi was always inclined towards acting, but it is surprising how he never showed interest during his growing years. He says in one of the interviews that in school and college he did not participate much in the theater activities in school and college. Instead, what is more, surprising is that he concentrated more on building his body. He won the Assam Malestorm Contest in 2001. When this gave him a little more confidence, he participated in Gladrags Mega Model Hunt and was one of the finalists. The popular TV host Shekhar Suman was the judge of this show.

Rishi debuted in Assamese beside Nishita Goswami, in the movie “Rong.” Nishita happens to be the daughter of the famous National Film Awardee Malaya Goswami. In 2002, Rishi moved into Kolkatta, where he started his career on the small screen. From 2005-07, he worked in a television serial called “Ekdin Protidin” which was aired on Zee Bangla. The character he portrayed there was of Indranath Laha.

After moving to Kolkata Rishi’s first telefilm was “ Daman” alongside the famous Indrani Haldar. His initial break on the big screen was in 2006, in the film “ Kranti” where he played a negative role. The movie was directed by Riingo Banerjee and did pretty well at the box office. Rishi often thanks Indrani Haldar for improving his Bangla.

 From 2008-10, Rishi worked again in small screen, which gave him a lot of popularity. His role as Dr. Ujaan Chatterjee in “Ekhane Aakash Neel” was loved by many. He was cast against the famous Aparajita Ghosh. The Ujaan-Hiya chemistry from the same serial was more than a phenomenon at that time. Recently he was seen in the serial “Ishti Kutum” as Archishman  Mukherjee.

Rashid Farooqui is a very talented actor hailing from Karachi, Pakistan. He was born on 5th May 1975. Rashid did his schooling from Government High School, Karachi. He had a keen interest in theater drama right from his childhood days. Therefore, he joined the National Academy of Performing Arts to pursue a career and to choose what he loves to do. He then started his occupation as an actor for theater dramas and television series. He officially kicked off with a short drama and tragedy film called “Shahrukh Khan Ki Maut”. He was Ustad Manzoor in the film. In a short span of time, the short film was a super hit. He then appeared in “Too Late the Reformer.” He went on to do various television shows like ‘Moorat’, ‘Manzil’, ‘Man-o-Salwa’ and ‘Makan’. Many of them enjoyed to watch him on screen in most of his character roles. His personal favorite role is that of a father. In 2008, Rashid made a debut appearance in a drama film called “Ramchand Pakistani”, which was one of the directorial ventures by Mehreen Jabbar. In the film, Rashid was Shankar opposite to Champa. Beautiful Nandita Das acted as Champa in the film. The film was fabulously directed. Rashid and Nandita were amazing with their brilliant acting skills. The film did so well that Rashid was nominated for Best Actor (Male) in Lux Style Awards. Even today, he is known for his star performance in that movie. With a lot of recognitions in Lollywood industry, he got offers to do more films and appear in television. He started with a short film called “Insha'Allah”. Then, followed by two other films called “Maalik” and “Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai”. His performance in Maalik is known to be amazing. The movie shows the reality they say! And his romantic movie amounted to a collection of Rs6.50 crore in the Box Office. Rashid has worked with reputed channels like Geo Entertainment, PTV Home, Hum TV, ARY Digital, etc. He has been a part of various television drama shows like Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Khushboo Ka Ghar, Choti Si Kahani, Jal Pari, Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai, Zindagi Dhoop Tum Ghana Saya, Meray Khwab Raiza Raiza, Haya Ke Daaman Main, Nanhi, Rehaai, Zeenat Bint-e-Sakina Hazir Ho, Riyasat, Zara Yaad Kar, etc. He is indeed a complete drama star. He is now working on few upcoming appearances as lead and supporting roles in the movies.
