Born on 14th June, 1960, Shekhar Suman is a well known face of television and Bollywood industry. He is from Patna, Bihar. He began his Bollywood career with the film “Utsav”. However, even after featuring in more than 25-30 films, he didn’t get that desired success. He appeared in movies like Chor Machaye Shor, Tridev, Sansar and the most recently in his directed movie Heartless.

Having not so successful career in Bollywood industry, he turned his way to the television industry. He has featured in a number of TV series and reality shows, some of them being Vilayati Bahu, Andaz, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Movers and Shakers, etc. He, alongside cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu judged the highly adored show of Star One- “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” for three consecutive seasons. However, differences arose between him and Sidhu and he parted his ways from the show after the 3rd season. He then went ahead to become the judge of a rival comedy show named “Comedy “Circus”. He also turned up for the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. He marked his singing debut with the album “Kuch Khwaab Aise.

Shekhar Suman tied the knot with Alka Kapoor. He has got two children, namely Adhyayan and Ayush. Unfortunately for him, he lost his son Ayush. His youngest one Adyayan Suman is an actor having featured in the movie Raaz 2. In the year 2014, Shekhar Suman try his luck in direction. He directed the Bollywood movie Heartless featuring his son as the lead actor. However, the film didn’t do well at the box office.

Shashi Puri is a senior actor of Hindi & Punjabi film industries. He has been active in the world of entertainment since 1979, and with his multiple Hindi and Punjabi movie appearances, he is considered an experienced actor of both of these media. He debuted with a Hindi movie called ‘Dada’, in which he played the role of ‘Bashi’. He was noticed and got other opportunities to work in films such as ‘Maanabhimaan’ (1980), ‘Jazbaat’ (1980) & ‘Jwala Daku’ (1980). He worked in a lot of small budget movies during this time and earned a reputation of a parallel lead or a supporting actor. He was seen playing supporting roles in the films like ‘Jamai Raja’ (1990) & ‘Krantiveer’ (1994). He worked with superstars like ‘Rajesh Khanna’ & ‘Smita Patil’ in the movie called ‘Avatar’ (1983). He worked with almost all prominent actors of his time. During this time, he also remained active in Punjabi films & he had been equally busy with his Punjabi movie assignments. He stopped doing Punjabi films back in 1993. His last film in Punjabi language was ‘Saali Adhi Gharwali’ (1993). If we consider his acting career in the Hindi television Industry, we can see that he is still going strong with his popular television appearances in serials such as ‘Saarrthi’ (2004), ‘Love Marriage Ya Arrange Marriage’ (2012).   He was also seen in the chronicle series called ‘Katha Sagar’, which was directed by veteran director ‘Shyam Benegal’ & was broadcasted originally by DD. The series was based on the stories of some world famous chroniclers such as Rabindranath Tagore, Leo Tolstoy & O. Henry. In all of his acting endeavours in the television industry he has shown his well proven record as a terrific actor, who is well versed with the dynamism of acting and understands that it as an art. During his entire career, he has displayed an innate ability to understand and perform a natural way of acting and has been quite consistent in his recent assignments.
