Kejkar, who hails from Nagpur, was born on December 7, 1997. He did his schooling at Saraswati Vidyalaya, Nagpur, and Vimaltai Tidke Convent & Junior College. On passing his matriculation, Kaivalya enrolled for engineering studies at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai in fibers and textile processing technology. Apart from studies, Kejkar was pretty active in co-curricular activities too. He was made the Overall Event Head during his engineering days. He also acted as resource and logistics coordinator for Manzar, the cultural festival at this college. He was also the event coordinator for Marathon ICT. While still pursuing his engineering degree, the singer-cum-composer interned at Colorband Dyestuff Pvt. Ltd.

Kejkar nursed the ambition of becoming an accomplished singer from an early age. He attributes his success as a singer to his mother Sadhana Kejkar’s support. He was trained by her and would be guided by her whenever he would participate in a singing competition.
In an interview, Kejkar described how he participated in thirty-five competitions before being a part of Indian Idol. For him, every audition was a learning experience and motivated him to perform even better. Kaivalya is also known for crooning a song for the Marathi show Phulpakharu. Kaaivalya keeps sharing songs sung by him on his YouTube channel. The video featuring his songs Morya Morya and Zingaat on Indian Idol 11 crossed two million views.
