Bela Shende is an Indian singer who was born in Pune, Maharashtra, India. She is well known mostly for her charismatic personality and beautiful voice. Shende came from a family with musical background as her grandmother, Smt. Kusum Shende, and her sister,
Sawani Shende
, were classical vocalists. In addition, she had her grandmother and father, Dr. Kusum Shende, as Gurus. She then became famous after winning the National Award for Saregama Mega Final when she was 16 years old.
She has sung numerous songs, and many of them have been featured in various films. For example, in 2001, she worked with another singer,

, during the recording of "
Dum Dum Diga Diga
" which was featured in the film "
Tera Mera Saath Rahen
", a Hindi drama. That song was also her first one which was featured in a film. In 2008, her rendition of "Mann Mohana" was featured in the film "
Jodhaa Akbar
". After that, the song earned her the Female Vocalist of The Year. Two years later, three songs sung by her were featured in "Natrang", a Marathi film based on a novel by Dr. Anand Yadav. The songs were”Wajle Ki Bara", "Kashi Mi Jau Mathurechya Bajari", and "
Apsara Aali
".
In 2013, Shende was indirectly featured in "Rajjo", a musical drama, as Kangana Ranaut's sole voice. Furthermore, she acquired the Best Female Playback Singer National Award through her rendition of "Khurkhura", a song in another Marathi film. She then claimed that she felt really blessed because the award was something that every artist wanted to achieve. She also added that it was a dream that became a reality.
In this year, she recorded the song "Masoli", which was released on January 9th. Currently, she is singing at concerts and keeping in touch with her fans via her Facebook page.
