Movies of gangster genre have been released now and then. Now Dongri Ka Raja has hit the theatres. Let’s see what this movie has in store for us.
Gashmeer Mahajani is Ronit Roy’s (who is the Raja of Dongri) backbone but when the former is attracted by Reecha Sinha he doesn’t concentrate on the killing area. This makes Ronit angry and the lovebirds must run away from that place in order to lead a happy life. Watch the movie Dongri Ka Raja to know how the love angle unravels and how the underworld is shown.
We have seen Ronit Roy playing the serious baddie in many films and in this film too he does a fairy good job. Gashmeer Mahajani and Reecha Sinha debut with this film; while Gashmeer gives quite a confident performance, Reecha Sinha does quite a good job with her expressive eyes. Ashmit Patel fits into the role of a cop but could have done better.
The movie attempts to say something fresh about the happening crimes in the underworld of Dongri. Hadi Ali Abrar, the director, could have worked more on showing it authentically.
A somewhat good twist come in the very later stages of the film.
What’s not there?
The story of Dongri Ka Raja is clichéd. The movies laced with so many dialogues that you get vexed at a point.
Ronit Roy shines in the movie. Otherwise, it works only in bits and pieces.
