Padma Sachdev was an Indian poet. She was born on 17th April 1940 in the Baru Brahmin Family in Purmandal, Jammu, India. She is the daughter of Professor Jai Dev Badu. She worked as an announcer in All India Radio, Jammu in 1961. She is mainly known for her writing skills. She has written a book named In Bin which describes the role played by domestic helpers in Indian households. She has also written lyrics for songs for movies such as Mera Chhota sa ghar baar, Aankhin Dekhi, and Sona re, tujhe kaise miloo. She has also received several awards such as the Sahitya Akademi Award for her poems and songs. She has also received Padma Shri and Kabir Samman for her poetry. She took her last breath on 4 August 2021 in Mumbai India. Â
