She graduated from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, with Economic honours in 1990. Piloo Vidyarthi's career started as a radio jockey. She worked as a producer and radio jockey at "Times FM" in Mumbai in 1993 for six years and then joined Times Music as an AR manager. She left Times Music and then joined the music label Sargeama India Ltd. in Mumbai as a programming software zonal head.

She was also a part of the Ekjute Theatre group led by Nadira Zaheer Babbar for 11 years. She appeared in many Hindi films like " The Body Click to look into! >> Read More... She also founded an NGO group called "Chuttir Pathsala", its headquarters is in Mumbai and it aims to provide support to non-Bengali people and conducts many charity activities to provide support to those who need it. She was also awarded the Favourite Bahu award at the Star Parivaar Awards in 2015.
