Sayandeep Sengupta

Sayandeep Sengupta is an actor, who has been working for the Delhi Theater circuit for the past six years and has also been associated with the Mumbai Theater scene. Sayandeep started doing theater acting since he was 11; he acted in a play in the National School of Drama and was in love with acting.

Since then he became part of a group called Sahitya Kala Parishad, which was formed by the pass outs of National Drama School. He acted for the group until the age of 18. The acting bug has clearly been in him since his childhood and cites Daniel Day-Lewis, Guru Dutt ,and Dilip Kumar as his acting heroes.

Sayandeep made his debut on camera in 2017 with a short film called Aasra, where he played the character of Aneesh. He stars in another short film called Taxi Driver the same year, but his major break came a year later with Dulha Wanted in 2018. Dulha Wanted is a mini-series where he caught everyone’s attention. The same year he stared in his first movie which was Chitrakut where he plays the role of Subodh.

Next he was seen in Imperfect in 2018, the TV mini series which brought him his spotlight as this became one of the most beloved roles by the viewers. His popularity was enhanced even more when he starred in the remake of one of the most successful TV series of all time, The Indian remake of The Office.

Sayandeep plays the role of Amit Sharma, which is based on the highly popular role of Jim Halpert in the US version of The Office which is played by John Kraisinski. Sayandeep names The Office as the favorite work he’s done till date. He also has been an admirer of the web series scene that’s slowly seeing a rise in India.
