Born on 10th may 1981, Hrishitaa Bhatt is an Indian actress cum model. Though she belongs to a Bengali Speaking family, she was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is an Alunmini of Trinity College, London. She is also a Kathak Dancer and took her dancing lessons from none other than the legendary Shiamak Dawar. She was first seen to be starring against Shahrukh Khan in Asoka (2001). It was not until Haasil, that she earned fame.
Hrishitaa was able to earn the role in films like Ab Tak Chhappan and Jigyaasa. She also appeared in IshQ Bector’s music video “Daaku Daddy” with
Shakti Kapoor as her Dad. She can also be seen in Liril Advertisment Campaign and also worked with
Shahid Kapoor in Aryan’s “Aankho Me Tera Hi Chehra”. Though she never did prominent roles in any of the movies, she can still be seen doing short roles in many of them.
In her early age she always believed in keeping herself fit and also had an athletic body. She always dreamt of becoming a Pilot; however the destiny had different plans for her. She acted opposite many leading stars including
Jimmy Shergill, Shahrukh Khan.
In 2007 she did a movie named Friends Forever, which failed to the magic on the silver screen. Hrishita also tried her luck in many regional movies namely, Mani Mangalsutra and Bidhaatar Lekha. She can also be seen in a Pakistani film Godfather: The Legend Continues. Rumours prevailed in 2010 that she’s all set to tie knots with an actor Shubhashish Mukherjee who made his debut in Aasmaa against
Nauheed Cyrusi. However she refused to make any comments on her personal life. Rumors have also prevailed that Hrishita Bhatt was dating Shahid Kapoor even before they made a debut in Bollywood.

Because of her captivating beauty in this music video, she was recommended by the Bachchan family to play the female lead role in the Bollywood comedy drama film, Shararat, opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the year 2002.
Hrishitaa was later offered a role in the historical drama film, Ashoka, together with
Shah Rukh Khan,
Ajith Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and a lot more. This film was released in 2001, before Shararat and this mark as her debut film. Since then, she appeared in films like Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, Out of Control, Haasil, Charas: A Joint Operation and Ab Tak Chhappan. In 2005, Hritshitaa made a special appearance as Rukmani in Subhash Ghai’s Kisna: The Warrior Poet. She made her Telugu debut in N. Shankar’s Raam in 2006. In the same year, she acted in Ankahee, Jigyaasa, Jawani Diwani: A Youthful Joyride and Page 3. Hrishitaa was later seen in the Pakistani-Urdu film, Godfather in 2007, followed by a Hindi film titled Dharm. She also acted in the Bengali film, Bidhaatar Lekha.
From 2007 to 2010, Hrishitaa consistently works in several Hindi films like
Heyy Babyy, Deshdrohi, Don Muthuswamy, Khaffa, Dhara, Awasthi, and Aasma: The Sky is the Limit, Idiots Box and many more. She also donned an item number in the Bollywood drama film, My Name was Anthony Gonsalves in 2008. Her last Bollywood appearance was from Vinod Kapri’s political satire film, Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho in 2015.
In 2010, Hrishitaa did a Marathi film titled Mani Mangalsutra and a Bengali film entitled Mrs. Sen in 2013. In the year 2015, she acted in Ishq Vich: You Never Know (Punjabi). She was also seen in Dhol Taashe (Marathi) in the same year and appeared in Namaste (Nepali) and Tarfid (Persian).
In a recent interview, Hrishitaa explained that the reason she shifted in doing Bengali, Marathi and Punjabi films was because she was not getting any interesting roles in Bollywood. She adds that she is quite choosy in selecting films, and it is important to choose unique things. In 2010, it was reported that she is about to tie the knot with her long-time boyfriend, Shubhashish Mukherjee, whom she met while working in Aasma: The Sky was the Limit in 2009. However, no official report shows that the two have been married.
