The idea for the movie came from an incident where a 12-year-old blaming girl came to him when she got her. This question shook him to his core, and he decided to make a film on this issue. His inspiration came from the time of Raja Ram Mohan Roy when sati had been practiced. Mohan Roy battled for equality based on his principles, and Santosh Upadhyay hopes to bring about change by introducing a little drive in society.
