Prashant Johari

Prashant Johari is an Indian film screenwriter/director who has primarily worked in Bollywood. Prashant's previous film released in theatres was Odd Couple in 2022. Prashant Johari fulfilled his directorial dreams despite having no professional training and learning on the job while assisting in various departments of film production. He used to watch a lot of movies when he was younger, and it eventually became a hobby for him. However, in Bihar, his career options were limited to medicine, government, or engineering. Prashant was determined, so he enrolled in Kunnur's mass communication course at NIFT. He started dramatic clubs and began training others for four years before landing a job in a Delhi fashion company. In 2016, he quit his job and moved to Mumbai to work in the costume design and writing departments, where he met his college senior, Preneet Varma. He and Varma co-founded a production company.

Their initial trials were a failure. They worked on a web series that shelved, and eventually produced the short film Antarman. However, there were no takers. The child then began working on the film Odd Couple. He wrote the screenplay as well as the dialogue. He finished the movie in 2019 and submitted it to film festivals. The film was supposed to be released in 2020, but the pandemic delayed its release. The delay was heart-breaking and depressing. Johari recently completed the script for the film Happy Birthday Mummy, which he intends to shoot in Mumbai or Pune slums.
