Chandrakant Singh is a director, writer, and producer in Indian film industry. He has directed and produced many films which include Scapegoat,
, Bin Bulae Baarati, etc. His latest movie is the Scapegoat that released in 2017.
Chandrakant was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and completed his graduation in science (biology) from Devi Ahilya University. His father was in transportation, and his mother was a housewife. He has a brother who also works in the film industry as a distributor. Chandrakant has also completed a course in scripting and directing for nine months from New York Film Academy Los Angeles.
He started as an assistant director with Mr. Uday Shankar Pani documentaries in 1996-1997. Following that, he again assisted K. Bhagyaraj for the film Mr. Bechara that released on 30th August 1996. He started his career solely as a director with the movie Aaj ki Ramayan in 1999. After this, he started directing and producing movies solely.
From 1999 to 2002 he directed TV commercials and ad films only. Then after a break of two years, he masterminded a documentary for a social cause, educating and spreading awareness known as the documentary for cancer in women.
After this taking a break of four years, he started directing movies. On 1st February 2008, Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama released. It is a musical comedy film where three married couples explore married life and realize the twists and turn that they face are only to bring them closer and more bliss.
After this, on 17th June 2011, Bin bullae Baraati was released where a boy and a girl struggle to survive protecting themselves from a cop and a gangster. In the same year be careful was also shown in the cinemas for the first time on 21st October. Later on, Six X and Scapegoat had been shown in 2016 and 2017 where Six X is a Bollywood erotic movie while scapegoat is a thriller both directed as well as produced by Chandrakant Singh.
