Akhilesh Jaiswal

Akhilesh Jaiswal is the latest inclusion to the list of capable directors in Hindi film industry. Born on March 19th in 1986 at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Akhilesh had completed his schooling in his native place. In 2006, he came to Mumbai to pursue more and completed his graduation there.

Though Akhilesh Jaiswal joined Lala Lajpat Roy College to study Bachelors of Mass Media, he discontinued the course after he realized that filming is his real passion. Later to gain experience in this field, Akhilesh Jaiswal made small Marathi advertisement films and helped at the backstage of theaters for their plays.

Great reviews and decision to make a sequel to the first part, Anurag Kashyap again joined with Akhilesh Jaiswal to prepare the story for the next part; “Gangs of Wasseypur-2”.

He always treats Anurag as his mentor and has so much respect towards him. his movie; Mastram had received mixed reviews. Most of them were controversial and not positive. Though the critics gave three stars for this movie, there were some critics who understood the point that director is presenting beneath the pornographic plot. Mastram had screened at 15th Mumbai Film Festival for the first time. The screenplay and direction quality proves that Akhilesh Jaiswal is going to be one of the finest movie-makers of Bollywood.
