Siddharth Diwan is an Indian Director of Photography. He was born in the Indian city of New Delhi. He is a professional Motion Picture Photographer. He gained his specialization in the field from Satyajit Ray Film & TV Institute. Siddharth began his professional journey as a wildlife cinematographer, before moving to Mumbai to initiate his movie career. Initially, Diwan worked as an electrician. Gradually, he paved his way to becoming a camera assistant alongside well-known filmmakers like Tarsem Singh, Albert Brooks, and Wes Anderson. The film ‘Peddlars,’ which was Diwan’s first feature project as a full-time cinematographer, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, in its 2012 edition, in the critique’s week.

Another film, namely, ‘ Titli,’ also featured at the Cannes Film Festival 2014. His projects include critically acclaimed movies like ‘Lunchbox,’ which also featured in the 2013 edition of Cannes Film Festival, had Siddharth’s presence as an Additional Cinematographer. The photography of ‘Jeevan Smriti’ by Rituparno Ghosh is also Diwan’s effort. Siddharth is a recipient of the Filmfare Award too. His work as a cinematographer in the Bollywood film ‘ Queen,’ won him a Filmfare for the Best Cinematographer. His unique approach to giving the film a realistic and quirky appearance, made the project gained several accolades. His signature style of shooting the project in a grainy and naturalistic vibe is highly appreciated amongst critics and viewers.
