Rutuja Junnakar was born in a middle-class family in Pune on 14th February 1995. She has a Bachelor in Computer Application from Fergusson College, Pune. She showed an early propensity for dance and began formal dance training at age six. She had instruction various dance styles, including folk, Bharatnatyam, hip-hop, contemporary, and western.
She also picked up some Latin dance fundamentals. She began her professional career in 2016 by participating in the dance reality competition "

She competed on the dance reality show "High Fever... Dance Ka Naya Tevar" on Zee. She was one of the top 12 competitors on "India's Best Dancer," a reality competition.
