In 2008, Shailendra made a jingle “Mera Jahan” for Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par. With Adnan Sami as the singer, the song explores the mind of an eight-year old boy while he roams the streets of Mumbai.
In the same year, Shailendra composed the title track of the comedy serial “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.” Even after nine years of its airing, the viewers continue to love the song. Barve was the music director of Gandh, Gajaar, and BokyaSatbande before he got the opportunity to work on Samhita. Being a Marathi film, Samhita managed to garner critical acclaim and win laurels. Apart from the category of “Best Female Playback Singer,” Shailendra also received a National Award for “Best Music Direction.” At the 60th ceremony, Shailendra attended the event where he got the award from President Pranab Mukherjee.
