Nadeem started his career as a cinematographer in the year 1976. In 1976 he made the film Murder at Monkey Hill. It was a short film. Then in 1978, he got the chance to work in the movie Gaman. In 1980 he did Ek Baar Phir (Once Again) that didn’t do so well in the box office. In 1981 he decided to shoot a documentary Vasiqedars, the Pensioners of Avadh. It threw some light to his potential of becoming a great cinematographer.
