Rahi Masoom Raza is the finest poet, writer, and lyricist. He was a hero in the early '90s. He was born on September 1, 1927, in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, India.

He is an Urdu and Hindi poet-writer. He was born into a Muslim family. He did his higher studies at Aligarh Muslim University.

He completed his Ph.D. in Hindustani Literature. He did script and dialogue writer for the TV serial, Mahabharata. He worked closely with film-makers like Raj Khosla, B.R. Chopra, and Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Raza's father was a leading civil lawyer in Ghazipur, where he refused to leave India.

As an inspiration from his father, his attachments to his hometown were over twenty years in Mumbai. He was attacked by polio and TB during his childhood days in Nainital and Kashmir for about six years.

Kallu Kaka, specially appointed to entertain him as he was in bed by narrating stories collected from the local library. After his post-graduation, he got a temporary lecturer in the Urdu department.

Where he falls in love with Nayyar Jahan, who was previously married to someone, finally they married, but we're supposed to leave from Aligarh Muslim University and lost his job. They went to Mumbai. He went through a tough life. Initially, his friends did support him.

Later on, his works were published in the Hindi Magazines. His style and his works were impressed by Raj Khosla. So, he engaged him for his films as a script cum dialogue writer.

Soon B R Chopra found his masterpiece and asked him to write Mahabharatha but, he refused to say that he had no time. But B R Chopra announced in a press conference as that Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza should be writing dialogues and script for his super hit TV Serial Mahabharata.

Raza felt quite surprised, and B R Chopra has been flooded with comments as letters saying that it will be not fair as many Hindu writers could have done this script in a better way. What was the necessity to engage a Muslim when so many Hindu scholars and writers were easily available? ".

B R Chopra has shown all these letters to Rahi and trusted him. So he was endured on Rahi Masoom Raza. Raza was a product of Hindu-Muslim world and culture.

As because, there were many questions raised and being attacked by Hindu fundamentalists, as to how a Muslim write an epic about Hindu deity? He just replied as "he was the son of the Ganga and who will know the civilization and culture of India better than him."

He wrote the book "Chhote Aadmi Ki Badi Kahani," in 1965 about the war hero Abdul Hamid, The latter was given the Param Vir Chakra posthumously for his bravery in the tank battle of Asal Uttar in Punjab.

He wrote this book on the opportunity to address questions of nation, religion, and patriotism. All of Raza's novels feature the Hindu-Muslim theme.

Topi Shukla is regarding the friendship between Hindu and Muslim, both of whom are incomplete without the other; Os Ki Boond about a Hindu-Muslim riot after independence.

He won the Film fare Best Dialogue Award for the hit film Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki-in 1979. After his death, he has won for the movie Mili and Lamhe for Best Dialogue Award. He passed away on March 15, 1992.
