Marie Avgeropoulos

Marie Avgeropoulos was born to Greek parents on June 17, 1986, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She is a model and actress from Canada. Her most well-known role is that of Octavia Blake in The CW's post-apocalyptic science fiction drama The 100 (2014–2020). Marie spent much of her leisure time as a child fishing, hunting, and camping. She began playing the drums when she was 16 years old. She traveled to Europe after studying broadcast journalism in her hometown for two years. She returned to Canada a few months later and lived in Vancouver. At the age of 20, she underwent surgery to remove a large tumor from her chest and neck, including removing and reinserting her vocal cords. This treatment affected her voice. Her skill was discovered by a talent agency, which encouraged her to participate in several national advertisements.
