Julianna Margulies is an actress and producer. She was born as Julianna Luisa Margulies on June 8, 1966 at Spring Valley,
New York
, U.S.A. to Francesca and Paul Margulies. Julianna belongs to a Jewish lineage since her parents are both Jewish. Her family lives in Israel for quite some time before she was born, then later moved to New York City. She went to Green Meadow Waldorf School and High Mowing School. During her childhood, she lives on New York, England and France. She also took Bachelor of Arts at Sarah Lawrence College where she played in various campus stage plays.
She made her film debut in the film, Out for Justice in 1991, where she played as Rica, a prostitute who wish to go straight. She bagged the role of Carol Hathaway opposite with Doug Ross (played by
George Clooney
) in the medical drama series, ER in 1994. Her character in the series intended to die but the producers altered the plot and she stayed for the show for 6 seasons until the year 2000. Julianna got the Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama at the Emmy Award in 1994 and several nominations during her period. She is the only regular cast to received the Emmy Award. After her venture in ER, she continued to work on stage. She acted on stage in Intrigue With Faye, Ten Unknowns and the episodic play, The Vagina Monologues. She also worked in various films like the 2002 drama film, Evelyn together with

. In 2004, Julianna made a guest appearance in the medical comedy-drama series, Scrubs. She was also featured in another TNT miniseries, The Grid in year 2004. In 2006, the actress acted in the sixth season of The Sopranos for four episodes where she played the role of Julianna Skiff. She also bagged the role of Claire Miller, a flight attendant in the thriller film, Snakes on a Plane. In 2006, she essayed the role of Jennifer Bloom in the miniseries, The Lost Room.
In year 2007, she made a small appearance in the adventure film, The Darwin Awards and later starred in the legal drama, Canterbury’s Law. In year 2009, she played the lead role as Alicia Florrick in The Good Wife. Her role is a lawyer who returned to her legal practice after her husband got involved in a sex and corruption issues so he resigned as the State’s Attorney in Illinois. She was also credited as the producer of the show after airing three episodes. In 2013, she also made a voice-over for a credit card (Chase Blue Sapphire) commercial. After that, she started to do voice-overs for various commercials. This year, Julianna acted as the narrator in the episode, Women in Business in the second season of the documentary series, Makers: Women Who Make America.
Julianna got married to Attorney Keith Lieberthal on November 10, 2007 at Massachusetts. The couple has a child named, Kieran and they lived in Manhattan in New York city. She received several awards and nominations for her outstanding performances in many of her shows and films.
