Emma De Caunes is an actress from france born on 9th September 1976, to Antoine De Caunes and Gaelle De Caunes in Paris. The glamor industry surrounds her in every corner of her family; her father is an actor and director, mother (director and graphic designer), her grandmother Jaqueline Joubert (an actress) and grandfather Georges De Caunes, an esteemed TV reporter. Emma likes musicians, and thus, she married to Mathew Blanc Francard known as Sinclair, a musician in 2001. They gave birth to their daughter Nina in October 2002. However, Emma’s relationship with Sinclair got ended in 2005. Then on 10th September 2011, she married to comic book artist Jamie Hewlett. She completed her graduation in the year 1995. Her acting career started at a very young age of 10 when she got a role in Margot et le voleur d’enfants (French film) in 1988. She got recognized as playing the role of Sabine in the ‘Mr. Beans Holiday’ (2007), wherein she played an actress and the love interest of Mr. Bean.
This flick has got mixed reviews from critics. She portrayed the character of Sophie in her first major film ‘Un Frère’(Brother) 1997, a story about a school discovering her sensuality against the wishes of her drug-addicted brother. She achieved the Best Actress Award at the Paris Film Festival (1997) and the Most Promising Award at the Cesar Awards in 1998 for this movie. Emma has acted in more than 20 films till now, but mostly in French films. She has also hosted a La Musicale show for French TV. She has performed in all genres and types of film- from feature films to shorts, TV to the stage and comedy to drama. She worked as a director and writer for her first short film “Le Nombril De l’univers” in 2000. Emma has also won the Prix Romy Schneider, awarded yearly to a young and upcoming actress.
