, was born in London, England, where he began his career at the mill before moving to the States in 2004. Three years later, he joined Company 3. He has become one of the industry’s most sought-after commercial and feature colorists.
Poole completed his studies at Bradford College. In the year 2017, he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.Â
Poole has won several awards, such as the Hollywood Post Alliance award for Outstanding Color Grading in Commercials in the year 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. He was rewarded with the AICP award in 2017 for his meticulous work in Squarespace - ‘John’s Journey’. In the year 2019 he received two AICP awards for ’Best Music Color Video Grading’ for The Carters ’Apes**t’ and ‘Best Commercial Color Grading over 90’ on National Lottery ’Amazing Starts Here’ .‘He also received the ’Best Color Grading’ award for Adidas’s Future campaign in 2016.
Poole has various feature credits to his name for coloring some of the most iconic films in the last decade, including the Drive,  ‘I, Tonya’, Foxcatcher, The Place Beyond the Pines, BlacKkKlansman. He was the colorist in Academy Award-winning Best Picture 12 Years A Slave (2014), and Spotlight (2016).
