After a year of Richard’s birth, his family shifted to Lexington in North Carolina.

Harrison did his schooling from Lexington high school but later left it as he belonged to a very poor family. Later on, he started driving a school bus and earned five dollars a week. Harrison married Joannerue who is the daughter of the county judge Joseph rue in 1960. They have a daughter named Sherry and three sons named Joseph, Rick, and Chris. During that time he worked in the military and served the US for twenty years. He worked as a paymaster and a petty first class officer while his wife opened her office in 1973.

Richard was involved in several legal issues all through his life. When he was young, he stole a car after which the judge gave him a choice between being arrested for joining the military. In 2012, Daniel Callahan filed a case against him. In 2012 again he was sued in the Clark County district court of Las Vegas by Wayne F Jefferies. He along with his son had been sued for interfering with business practices.
