Enamul Haque, also known as Enamul Huq, was born on 29th May 1943. He was a Bangladeshi actor, academician, and playwright. He has played various eminent roles in stage, television, and film mediums. He was born in the then-Bengal Presidency in British India. After that, he completed his SSC from Feni Pilot High School and HSC from Notre Dame College, Dhaka. Later, he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry in 1963 and 1964, respectively. He even joined the Department of Chemistry at BUET as a lecturer. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester in 1976. He even worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in medicinal chemistry at the same university from June 1976 to May 1977, where he did his Ph.D. He served as the chairperson of the department for 15 years and later acted as the dean of the engineering faculty for two years.
It was in the year 1968 that he wrote his first television drama Onekdiner Ekdin, which was directed by Abdullah Al Mamun Abdullah Al Mamun, born on July 13, 1942, was a Ba >> Read More... . In the same year, he even debuted in the acting field with the television drama Mukhora Romani Boshikoron, a translation of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. During his career, he wrote scripts for more than 60 television dramas, which included the likes of Sheishob Dingulo, Nirjon Shoikot, and Ke Ba Ke Ba Por. He acted in some prolific movies like Emiler Goenda Bahini, Ei Shob Din Ratri, Ayomay, and Amar Bondhu Rashed. Haque was one of the founding members of the theatre troupe called Nagorik Natya Sampradaya. His theatrical productions include some great works like Bibaho UthShob and Grihobash. Later, he founded his theatre troupe named Nagorik Nattyangan. At last, he died on 11th October 2021 on Bailey Road in Dhaka at 78. In his last rites, numerous people paid tribute and showed their respect to him.
